Golden diamonds, masterfully carved in various sizes, welcome visitors from Largo Goldoni and Via del Corso all the way to Piazza di Spagna.
This painstaking work was conceived to create a scenographic effect not only at night thanks to the propagation of the warm light, specially chosen to emphasise the gold of each individual gemstone, but also during the day, given the micro-perforation of each diamond within and beyond which the light reflected, creating a natural play of glow as far as the façades of the historical buildings. Lighting them up in front of a crowd of citizens and tourists were the highest officials of the Campidoglio, the mayor Roberto Gualtieri, the councillor for Great Events Alessandro Onorato, the president of the Via dei condotti association Gianni Battistoni, the vice-president Valerio Lucci and the managing director and Renault Italia CEO Alessandro Fusilli with an exceptional godmother, Laura Chiatti. The ceremony was accompanied by a concert of the Carabinieri band. Renault’s original light installation was made under the banner of sustainability thanks to the use of 100% recyclable aluminium foil and ecological, low-energy LED lights to illuminate the work. A true spectacle not only in the evening but also during the day, which lit up the 2023/2024 Christmas celebrations.
