Job Description

Client MUNICIPALITY OF ROME

The Campidoglio’s Christmas 2023 lights up with the installation of a tree dedicated to the 75th years of the Italian Constitution, the tip of which is not a simple star but the coat of arms of the Italian Republic. The 10-metre high Christmas tree is decorated with the fundamental rights of our Constitutional Charter at the base of which is a backlit skyline of the city of Rome accompanied by a quote by Pietro Calamandrei, one of our illustrious constituent fathers.

30.000 led lights energy-efficient lamps shine on the tree, flooding the square with light, fully representing what the installation intends to convey: our Constitution is a bulwark, and the beacon that lights our path as citizens. Accompanying the tree is another installation that acts as a continuation of the design work, exclusive and for the first time reproduced on an institutional square.
A large book, skilfully carved from resin-coated polystyrene, which reproduces the constitution and which, thanks to its interactivity, brings visitors closer to the cardinal principles of the Italian constitution. The Christmas tree of democracy, which is the most precious heritage, was strongly desired by the Capitoline assembly and the mayor Roberto Gualtiero, who took part, inviting the godmothers Gerini and Manzi to a lighting ceremony that was absolutely heartfelt by Roman citizens and tourists alike.
