Gucci – Paris
Job Description
Client GUCCI
The art installation was created for the Gucci Valigeria boutique in Paris and draws inspiration from the famous drawing by Vittorio Accornero De Testa – illustrator, painter and set designer – who collaborated with the Italian fashion house from 1960 to 1981. Among the more than 80 creations signed for Gucci, the one that marked the history of the brand and of the accessory itself was the “Flora” scarf. This refined floral motif was conceived in 1966 as an exclusive gift from Rodolfo Gucci for Grace Kelly,
on the occasion of his visit to the Via Montenapoleone boutique in Milan. The iconography of the iconic nine bouquets of flowers, berries, butterflies, dragonflies and insects was reproduced on the façade of the Parisian Saint Honoré boutique, harmonising with the architectural lines of the building. Thanks to the wrapping technique, achieved by printing on adhesive material, the shades of the original pattern have been faithfully reproduced, paying homage to one of the most famous floral motifs in the history of fashion.
